Fruit Juice & Soda
Remove as much of the foreign material as possible by blotting with a white terry cloth or scraping with a dull knife or spoon. Spray the affected area with an ammonia solution (1 tablespoon clear household ammonia to ½ cup water). Care should be taken to remove all protein matter. Blot to remove excess moisture.
Apply rubbing alcohol to a clean white cloth and blot. Re-apply alcohol to clean areas of the cloth and continue to blot until no color transfers to the cloth. Note: Do not let the alcohol penetrate to the backing as it could destroy the latex bond.
Finally, using a spray bottle, rinse the spot with tap water and blot to remove excess moisture. Place a thick pad of paper towel or terry cloth over the spot and weight it down with a heavy book. This allows any wicking to absorb into the towel rather than drying on the tips of the carpet fibers. Let stand 12 hours.
